Sister Mae Frances Foster was born on June 26, 1924 in Range, Tennessee to Will and Mamie
Porter(both deceased). She was the oldest of two children. She had one sister, Dorothy Growe, also
deceased.
Mae accepted Christ at a young age. She attended school in Memphis, Tennessee. Mae worked and
retired from Winklemans Retail store after 25 years of faithful service.
She married Shelby Foster in 1963. She brought six children to the marriage and they had four
additional children.
Mae was a devoted wife, loving mother and a great friend to many. She had a flair for fashion, Mae
loved hats and jewelry and her rose garden.
Mae departed this life on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 10:50pm. She leaves to mourn her loving
husband, Shelby Foster, five daughters, Mrs. Gloria(Benjamin)Hills, Miss Janet Arrington,
Mrs.Evelyn(Walter)Hill, Mrs.Mary Ann(Carl)Hammonds, Miss Jewell McGhee,three sons, Mr. Raymond
McGhee,Mr. Lawrence(Shirley)McGhee, Mr.Kenneth McGhee, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great
grandchildren, one great, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mae will join her two deceased dauthters, Ms. Maeonia Grady and Ms.Delores McCrainey, in a place
where there is no more pain, only joy.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the outpouring of love and support during our
beloved's illness and during this time of bereavement. We have truly felt your prayers. We thank you
for your continued support and encouragement.
